​In the population decline, transforming the urban areas into compact cities will be an important theme. Particularly, it is necessary to clarify the impacts on public services and the urban environment in the process of compactly modifying the urban structure, and find feasible solutions for the sustainable city. In our laboratory, we use various dynamic city models to simulate and analyze quantitatively urban changes in various cities around the world.
